Feeling nervous?

Many patients may be feeling anxious prior to their visit to our dentist in Glasgow which is completely normal! Despite common misconception, patients of all ages can experience dental anxiety (which can stem from negative childhood experiences) and it is nothing to be ashamed of. If you are feeling anxious prior to a visit to our clinic you may wish to reschedule your appointment (or even cancel altogether) however this can have a detrimental effect on your oral health.

The importance of a visit to our clinic

Many patients may overlook an appointment to our clinic, however missing a dental check-up can lead to missed symptoms of more serious dental concerns, such as the development of oral diseases and infections for example. With this in mind therefore our team strives to reassure our nervous patients, to ensure they can stay on top of their oral health.

What’s the solution?

If you are feeling nervous then feel free to contact our clinic prior to your visit. Our experienced and highly skilled dental team has years of experience working with nervous patients, meaning we are always on hand to attend to the queries or concerns any of our patients may have. Our clinic displays many photos of our surgery on our website, which we believe can help our nervous patients familiarise themselves with our dental environment, therefore making them feel more comfortable.

We are pleased to offer treatments to replace missing teeth, such as dental implants and dentures, as well as cosmetic dentistry like Invisalign, inlays, and onlays. In recent years we have found an increase in the popularity of porcelain veneers and teeth whitening which provide a fast improvement in the appearance of a patient’s teeth. With our detailed knowledge of facial structure we are experts when it comes to the facial aesthetic treatments we offer, especially when it comes to using botulinum toxin to smooth any unwanted skin wrinkles.

Our dentist in Glasgow offers a number of great orthodontic treatments, which are effective long-term solutions to straightening your teeth, sometimes using brackets and wires if there are complex adjustments needed. However we are also pleased to offer invisible and clear braces too.

All braces apply pressure to the teeth to move them into the desired position. Orthodontic treatment has advanced over the years and in this day, and age it’s a lot more comfortable than it was many years ago. This is the case whichever brace a patient may end up wearing. The main benefit of having orthodontic treatment is gaining straighter and healthier teeth. With excellent results, this treatment can take a few months to a year or more.

Our dental practice can also carry out more specialist procedures like root canal treatment, as well as the more day-to-day tooth fillings. From crowns to extraction and emergency dental care, we have you covered.

Preventive dentistry is also available whether it be a routine dental examination to detect early tooth decay or a scale and polish to make your smile gleam.

We aim to make you as comfortable as possible, no matter what the treatment is you are receiving. From our calm and safe waiting rooms to our pristine treatment rooms.

To ensure patients feel really at home our highly trained staff are capable of conversing in a number of languages including Urdu, Punjabi, German, Polish, Arabic and Romanian.

We aim to keep on top of the latest developments in dentistry so our team is regularly trained in delivering high-quality dentistry, attending regular courses. We also do workshops to update and freshen our skills.

Smile Dental Care in Glasgow also offers a child-friendly service where prevention is our aim. The earlier tooth decay is detected in children the better, we believe this as a professional dental practice. So, we encourage parents to bring their children for regular appointments. At these appointments, our dentist can cover a range of treatments such as fluoride application, they can check for overbites or crossbites developing, and generally assess the health of your children’s teeth.

We will make your child feel safe and looked after the whole time they are in our care.

What happens at a routine check-up?

Our dentist will examine your mouth, teeth, and gums thoroughly. Then they may need to take X-rays and explain your treatment plan with you if needed.

They will discuss your teeth-cleaning habits, general health, and dietary issues that will affect your teeth, gums, and mouth. They will also offer tips to maintain good oral health.

In most cases prevention is key, but everybody is different and needs their own personal treatment plan. Depending on your plan you will be given advice on how many appointments you will need and how long any prescribed treatment will be.

We are very proud of our clinic and to offer you our services. Please have a look at our website which you will find easy to use and browse through our treatments and services.
